Another solid day with $150 in new donations! Countless thanks to one of my oldest friends, Sami. We've know each other since the sixth grade and I'm so happy we've been able to maintain our friendship since we're often separated by vast oceans and continents. Thanks also go out to my friend Meg who shared the rigors of Cornell's undergraduate biology program with me. Long live Jimbo and his many "gray areas"!
As I write this journal another donation just came in, this one's a biggie... $250! Generosity runs deep in Meg's family as her mother is the first of my donors in the $250 group!!! I honestly don't know what to say, people's generosity is more than I could have hoped for this early on in my campaign. Thanks Mrs. Duffy, you're the best. I'll be sure to use some Marshmallow Peeps for energy as I train for the big event!
The past few days have been rather intense with my ESL teaching and other stuff popping up. They've taken their toll today and I haven't had a chance to work on my fundraising as much as I had hoped. I really need to get a press release out to the local papers ASAP! The only major thing I accomplished today was writing a letter in Japanese, with the help of Yoichi my eager ESL student, requesting some of my Japanese friends to check out my site.
With the Easter holidays coming up, I don't think I'll be able to update my site until Monday, April 17th. I'll be staying at home and my parents only have an insanely slow modem connection. Hopefully I'll be able to gather a few donations at the family Easter party as well. I'm so happy with the progress thus far.
